We will be open to new members for the 2016-2017 season starting on Wednesday, September 7th, 2016. Please join our email list to receive a notification by email later in the summer. We normally take new members without audition for the first two rehearsals of each new season.
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 at Old First Church in Park Slope, corner of 7th Avenue and Carroll Street (side entrance on Carroll Street, upstairs).
The Brooklyn Community Chorus is a non-audition choir! However, we also have a smaller auditioned chamber choir. Information about auditions will be presented at the first rehearsal in September.
Make sure you subscribe to our email list to be notified of other upcoming events.
Any questions? Email our artistic director Steve Coburn.
The Brooklyn Community Chorus is an independent community choir in Park Slope, Brooklyn. It is open to anyone who loves to sing a variety of music, both sacred and secular, classical and popular, historic and contemporary. All ages are welcome; no auditions are needed.
We draw our conductors and soloists from within the chorus and from the local community. Our choice of repertoire is often determined by popular consent of the group rather than imposed by a single music director.
It is this spirit of democratic community that makes the Brooklyn Community Chorus unique, and a truly community organization.
If you are interested in getting notifications about upcoming semesters or performances, please join our email list on the right hand side of the page. If you have any additional questions about the BCC, feel free and email one of our conductors, Steve Coburn.
